Phi-Rho-Bot was a Design project carried out by a team of 5 students during the Junior year of the Engineering and Product Development Course at SUTD.
We identified early interference with high-risk industrial fires as a problem in Singapore. We proposed an autonomous fire-fighting robot that is able to detect fires early on and proceed to extinguish or reduce the spread of the fire through the combination of sensors, cameras and a launcher mechanism. The robot launches a special fire extinguishing ball that explodes when in contact with fire, dispersing a fire extinguishing powder.
