TRIA - PACKAGING DESIGN PROJECTS
A collection of 3 main paper & cardboard packaging projects for the F&B industry
DUAL FUNCTION TRAY
The conceptual design of this tray was borne out of the need to help a specific client reduce packaging costs for their F&B business. At that point in time, almost 40% of their business was takeaway.
In the particular case of this client, both dine-in and takeaway utilised the same standard closed box archetype (similar to KFC box used for their chicken). By moving to this design, the client would be able to serve food for both dine-in and takeaway with just 1 SKU.
This could potentially help to streamline their inventory and reduce packaging costs by 5-8%.

HOTDOG TRAY - FOR DINE-IN
This Hotdog Tray concept was proposed to A&W as part of a packaging proposal. They currently use a clamshell box for serving their hotdogs in-store. To help save costs and improve customer experience with consuming a hotdog, an open-faced tray was proposed that was designed to bend along specifically created fold lines to enable consumers to easily grab and bite their hotdog.
It was calculated that such a design would help to reduce packaging material usage by about 25-30% for their dine-in hotdog packaging.

PIZZAHOOD BOX - LOCK DEVELOPMENT
This Pizzahood box is a new and innovative upgrade on the current standard pizza box used today in the market. The main features of the box include a double flap closing, tamper-proof lock & stacking features that allow up to 3 boxes to be stacked securely.
One of the main issues with the design that was yet to be resolved was the design of the tamper-proof lock. It had 2 main issues - the lock failing to lock securely during box usage & food safety issues.
